It seems like a lifetime ago that Gregg Tarr first walked through the doors at WANE15.
“I remember telling them I was only going to be here two years,” he says with a laugh. “And, I ended up staying.”
As WANE15’s Art Director for the past 38 years, Tarr has seen television evolve right before his eyes.
“The biggest thing is there were no computers when I started.”
“Everything was pretty much hand-drawn.”
“I remember my son was born the same day I found out I was getting the first desktop computer here.”
WANE15 Digital Director Joe Carroll has worked with Gregg Tarr for over 35 years.
“What stands out about Gregg, is he’s been able to adapt,” Carroll says. “Now, we have these elaborate computer programs that he’s had to learn, and he’s done it.”
“Being an Art Director when he started is infinitely different than it is now,” says Carroll. “But he’s adapted well.”
Tarr admits it wasn’t always easy.
