MUNCIE, Ind. — A Muncie woman was arrested on a child molest charge over the weekend.
According to court documents, 29-year-old Elizabeth Curtis has been preliminarily charged with one count of child molestation, a Level 3 Felony.
Police reporting on the case indicated a child told investigators Curtis had touched them inappropriately. The child was able to demonstrate the exact manner in which Curtis touched them.
Court documents said Curtis allegedly touched the child inappropriately multiple times, including one instance where another person was present in the room.
Investigators reported that Curtis initially denied allegations police presented to her. As her conversation with law enforcement progressed, Curtis eventually confessed to touching the child.
Curtis reportedly told police the child is “very smart and remembers everything.”
The maximum penalty for a Level 3 Felony in Indiana is a 16-year prison sentence and a fine of up to $10,000.
