LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Special Judge Frances Gull scheduled a hearing on two recently filed motions from the prosecutor in the Delphi murders case, but Gull’s order does not indicate whether she will address suspect Richard Allen’s motion for Gull to recuse herself.
Gull set the hearing for 9 a.m. Feb. 12 in Fort Wayne, where she is an Allen County Superior Court judge, not in Carroll County, where the case is filed.
Gull will hear the prosecutor’s motion to add two additional counts of murder and two counts of kidnapping against Allen. Gull also indicate she will hear the prosecutor’s Jan. 29 motion to hold Allen’s attorneys, Brad Rozzi and Andrew Baldwin, in contempt.
Allen is suspected of forcing 14-year-old Libby German and 13-year-old Abby Williams off the Delphi trails near the Monon High Bridge on the afternoon of Feb. 13, 2017. The girls were found dead the next morning on the north side of the Deer Creek, about a quarter of a mile east of the bridge.
On Jan. 29, Allen’s attorneys also filed a motion asking for Gull to remove herself as judge, indicating the suspect believes she has been biased against Allen and his attorneys.
