FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – For the third time in program history, New Haven wrestling is bringing home an IHSAA regional title following a strong day at Carroll High School. The Bulldogs edged second place Garrett with a team score of 136 points on Saturday.
Junior phenom Julianna Ocampo earned her third straight regional title against the boys. Ocampo pinned her opponent in the second period to bring home some hardware and punch her ticket to next weekend’s semi-state meet.
Along with Ocampo, three other Bulldogs claimed individual titles at Saturday’s meet. Karrington Cooper won in the 113-pound weight class in a 9-6 decision. In the 144-pound championship, Easton Doster defeated his opponent to claim an individual title. Finally, Aidan Elkins won a championship in the 150-pound weight class.

Garrett finished in second place with a score of 130.5. Carter Fieldsen and Chase Leech each won individual titles in the 132- and 175-pound championships, respectively.
