FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A man is dead and two others are hurt after a shooting near downtown Fort Wayne. The shooting happened around 11:40 Saturday night.
Police responded to the 1200 block of Rivermet Avenue for reports of gunshots in the area. When police arrived, they found three men shot, according to the Fort Wayne Police Department.
Medics pronounced one of the men dead at the scene. They transported two other men to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries, according to FWPD.
It’s unknown what led to the shooting, according to police. Detectives searched the area for evidence. Police at the scene used flashlights to search an alley for a suspect who possibly ran off. Police also asked neighboring residents about a possible suspect vehicle they saw leaving the scene.
