Victim of Grabill stabbing identified as Allen County defense attorney

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) — The victim of a fatal stabbing in Grabill on Saturday night has been identified as local attorney and former Allen County magistrate Marcia Linsky.

Court documents show that Linsky’s boyfriend, Charles Michael Calvert, faces a murder charge and that investigators believe he staged knives at the scene while claiming self defense.

William Lebrato, Allen County’s chief public defender, as well as other sources confirmed Linksy as the victim in the stabbing to WANE 15.

Linsky was an active member of the community. She was a defense attorney at Close & Hitchcock LLP. According to her bio , she spent nearly 14 years as a Magistrate in the Allen County court system — spending nearly three decades practicing law.

She was also a board member for Blue Jacket Inc., the Fort Wayne non-profit which works to help people with job training and placement.

Lebrato told WANE 15 that he’s still shocked by the loss and that Linsky will be sorely missed. He added that she was a fierce but fair prosecutor, a mentor as a judge, and adored by her clients as a public defender.
