FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — Huntington native and Fort Wayne resident Jesse Matheny will return to Jeopardy! this Friday, February 9 for the Champions Wildcard tournament.
The show can be viewed on WANE 15 at 7:30 p.m.
Matheny had a two-game run on Jeopardy! last year. During the time between his games being taped and aired on TV, Jeopardy! announced Champions Wildcard, so he knew having won in his debut that he would be back.
As someone who took the Jeopardy! test ten straight years before making it on the show, getting the call to return was a “dream come true” all over again for Matheny.
“[It was] Just an incredible experience. The best part about being on Jeopardy!, and last year when I won, the best part was getting to play another game of Jeopardy! So, getting to do that again was great,” he said.
This time around was more of a challenge, Matheny told WANE 15. In his debut, he was one of the two new contestants facing a returning champion. In the Champions Wildcard tournament, everyone has already been on Jeopardy and won.
