Niswander honored after setting two school records

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Purdue Fort Wayne’s Harrison Niswander (Huntington, Ind. / Huntington North) has been named the Horizon League Indoor Track & Field Runner of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday (Feb. 13).

Niswander set a pair of school record at the Grand Valley State Big Meet over the weekend. He ran the 5000 meters in a record time of 14:21.78. It ranks sixth in the Horizon League this season. He also set a new program mark in the 800, recording a time of 1:52.80. His time is the best in the event in the league this season.

This season Niswander has set program records in the 800, mile, 3000 and 5000.

This is the sophomore’s second weekly league honor this season.

Niswander and the rest of the ‘Dons are in action next week at the Horizon League Indoor Championships hosted by Youngstown State.
