GARRETT, Ind. (WANE) – The student council at Garrett High School have spent the last two weeks hosting various activities to raise money for Riley Children’s Hospital.
Every year, the committee for Student Council raises and donates thousands of dollars towards Riley Children`s Hospital to help support their mission. Some of the activities included a bake sale, student volleyball game, pieing a SRO officer in the face, and many more.
Many students, faculty and staff have a close relationship to Riley Hospital. Some of them have either worked with or have been through their program, so raising money for them was a no brainer.
Their Riley Week convocation will be held today, where speakers who have personal experiences with Riley will talk in front of students and the community. There will also be representatives from the community and donor partners present as well.
The students are also selling t-shirts with the theme #red4riley. Each year there is a different theme, and this years theme played off Valentines Day. Partial proceeds from the shirts go towards Garrett High School’s mission to raise as much money as they can. To buy a shirt, click here .
