Fort Wayne Champs bow out to Men of Mackey in TBT

INDIANAPOLIS (WANE) – The Fort Wayne Champs’ appearance in this year’s “The Basketball Tournament” (TBT) was brief in Friday’s 73-65 opening loss to Men of Mackey.

Former Purdue guard Eric Hunter Jr. drilled the game-sealing 3-pointer to help the Boilermaker alumni team reach the target score in the Elam Ending.

Keyshawn Feazell led the Champs with 15 points and eight rebounds in Friday’s loss. Dree Gholston and Solomon Young also finished in double figures with 13 and 10, respectively. Fort Wayne native Tre Crews had six points on back-to-back 3-pointers in the first quarter.

Leading 55-54 at the end of the third quarter, the Champs were outscored, 21-8, over the fourth quarter and the Elam Ending.
