Motorcycle driver hurt following crash

DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – A motorcycle driver is hurt after a crash that involved a trailer Saturday, according to the Dekalb County Sherriff’s Office.

The crash happened at 4:24 p.m. in the 5800 block of County Road 35. 44-year-old Andrew Becker of Kendallville was driving a Chevrolet Silverado North in the 5800 block of County Road 35, while 33-year-old Braylon Gagnon of Auburn was driving south on a Harley Davidson.

The vehicle Becker was driving was pulling a large, enclosed trailer. Becker went to make a left turn into Byler Lane Winery. He said he did not see the motorcycle until after he began making the turn. Gagnon saw Becker making the turn and hit his brakes. Gagnon went sideways and slid on the ground until coming into contact with the trailer being towed by Becker’s vehicle.

Gagnon’s helmet came off during the crash, he came to rest near his vehicle in the road. The fire department arrived and provided medical assistance to Gagnon. Becker nor anyone else in his vehicle were injured.
