The closure runs from Reed Road to Old Maysville Road.

The project, which is part of the Pierson Drain Phase II stormwater improvement project , will replace a culvert and part of the road in the area.

According to Fort Wayne City Utilities, an expanded two-stage ditch will also be construction south of Lake Avenue along with a new culvert under the Maumee Pathway of the Rivergreenway.

City officials said the project should protect multiple neighborhoods and reduce heavy flooding that often plagues the area.

During the closure, drivers should use Reed Road, East State Boulevard and Maplecrest Road for a detour.
