FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – We’re giving you the First Alert to the next round of snow this winter that arrives on New Year’s Eve. New Year’s Eve will feature times during the day with rain and snow mixing across the region. Some towns to the north of Fort Wayne will receive generally under (and up to) 1″ of snow that will cycle between falling and melting throughout the day. It will be breezy with gusts up to 30 mph as slushy snow and rain fall. Temperatures start out in the upper 30s for the morning on New Year’s Eve but will fall throughout the day, making it into the low to mid 30s at night. The most widespread mix is expected to be moved out by midnight, but some isolated rain/ snow showers may linger in some spots.
