FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – After a stellar weekend between the pipes, Connor Ungar is being recognized as the ECHL’s Goalie of the Week.
Starting all three games while Brett Brochu was ill, Ungar allowed only four goals between the Komets’ three wins over the weekend. The netminder had a save percentage of .947 over three games, stopping 89 shots in that span.
Brochu is currently under a NHL contract with Edmonton. After shaking off a rough start to the season, Ungar is 9-5 in his starts with a 3.12 goals against average and save percentage of .890.
The Komets are off on Monday before hosting Bloomington for their annual New Year’s Eve game on Tuesday.
