Komets’ skid spirals to 4 games after loss to Cyclones

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Komets remain winless in 2025 after a 3-2 loss to the Cincinnati Cyclones on Sunday.

Sunday’s loss marks the fourth straight for Fort Wayne. It’s also marks the end of a brutal stretch of seven games in 10 days for the Komets, who went 3-4 in that time frame.

Playing in his first game with the Komets since the 2019-20 season, Brad Morrison gave the Fort Wayne an early 1-0 lead in the first period. However, Cincinnati tied the game just before the first intermission. The Cyclones dominated the second period with two goals to take a 3-1 lead.

Jack Dugan buried a power play goal at the 2:09 mark of the third period to cut Fort Wayne’s deficit to one. However, the Komets couldn’t find a game-tying goal over the final 18 minutes of the game.

The Komets are off until Friday when they kick off a road trip to Tulsa. Fort Wayne will play Tulsa on back-to-back nights on Friday and Saturday before wrapping up their road trip at Wichita on Sunday.
