FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — A man is facing charges after hitting 114 MPH just before crashing into a couple and killing them on US 27.
A warrant was issued for Jose Perez Santos’s arrest Saturday, in connection to a July 2024 crash on US 27 that left a couple dead. Perez Santos is facing preliminary charges of;
- OWI Causing Serious Bodily Injury, a Level 4 Felony
- Two counts of OWI Causing Death, a Level 4 Felony
- Operating while intoxicated, a Level 6 Felony
- Driving While Suspended, an infraction
According to court documents provided by the Allen County Superior Court, Perez Santos was driving a white SUV, when he hit the passenger side of a gray sedan. The sedan, carrying Fernando Zavala Pizano, 29, Mayra Vivar, 32, and a passenger all from Fort Wayne, was pushed by the SUV for almost 250 feet before it flipped on its top, trapping the passenger…
