First Alert Forecast: Thunderstorms tonight, much colder and gusty Thursday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – **Note: stay tuned to this weather page for updates as needed regarding tonight’s potential for severe weather. I will put all the newest information at the beginning of this article and timestamp as I go. The forecast discussion below will largely remain unchanged**

**10:35 UPDATE: Storm threat has died down and I suspect the Severe Thunderstorm Watch will be allowed to expire soon. A few more gusty showers are possible through midnight with strong wind and scattered mixed rain/snow showers likely Thursday morning. As far as severe reports go, I have received one report of tree limb damage in southern Wabash County, but there have been no other severe reports across the area as of this writing.

**9:20 PM UPDATE: Several Severe Thunderstorm Warnings have been issued this evening, primarily for areas west and north of Fort Wayne. Radar estimates wind gusts between 50 and 60 mph, though waiting on ground truth confirmation. I have also not received or observed (through NWS channels) any damage reports. That could change!
