ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) — Most Allen County taxpayers may want to prepare to pay more for this year’s property taxes after a strong housing market in 2024.
According to Allen County Auditor Nick Jordan, for the county, there was a roughly 5% change in the average home’s assessed value from 2024 to 2025. Across the 82,081 primary residences that were assessed, the average for 2025 was $243,516. The average for 2024 was $231,694.
Jordan said that people need to keep in mind that 2025 property taxes are based on the assessed value determined as of January 1, 2024. Due to the local market being strong during that time, almost 15 months ago, tax bills could reflect that…
