FWPD: Fort Wayne man, 19, charged in July homicide

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – A spokesperson for the Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) announced on Tuesday morning that charges have been filed in the July shooting death of a 20-year-old Fort Wayne man.

Police say the shooting happened in the 3900 block of Warsaw Street on July 25. When police arrived, they say they found 20-year-old Jathen Allen Maxwell with gunshot wounds. Maxwell was pronounced dead at the scene.

The next day, FWPD said they were looking for the public’s help in providing information on the shooting, offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest…
