FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – A FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY remains in effect Wednesday, primarily during the evening and night due to the potential for severe weather.
As the 21Alive Weather Team often likes to stress: these ‘Alert Days’/severe weather predictions, are issued so you can be prepared, not scared. While we can never guarantee a complete miss, I have come to find that not only do many things need to go “right” for severe weather, significant weather-related impacts are normally highly localized. For example, one person might experience gusty showers while another mere miles away endures relentless severe (58 mph+) wind gusts. The hope, when all is said and done, is always that we miss the worst of whatever is projected to come our way!
