Fort Wayne police investigate shooting of 14-year-old boy near Renaissance Pointe YMCA

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department are investigating the shooting of a 14-year-old boy near the Renaissance Pointe YMCA on the city’s near southeast side.

The shooting was reported to Fort Wayne Dispatch just before 1:30 p.m. Friday in the 1400 block of Hurd Street . Yellow police tape surrounds a home in that location. That home sits adjacent to the Renaissance Pointe YMCA.

A Fort Wayne Police Department spokesman at the scene told WANE 15 that the boy has two gunshot wounds and he has been taken to a hospital in stable condition. It’s not clear if the boy was shot inside or outside the home. They don’t yet have any suspects…
