Fort Wayne International Airport navigates parking crunch as spring break winds down

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Spring break may be wrapping up, but the rush at Fort Wayne International Airport (FWA) hasn’t slowed down just yet, especially in the parking lot.

Airport officials say they’ve seen record-breaking travel traffic in recent years, and this year’s spring break surge pushed parking capacity to its limits.

“In 2023, we broke an all-time record—and then we broke it again in 2024,” said Scott Hinderman, Executive Director of Airports at FWA. “We anticipated growth and expanded parking last year, but even that filled up quickly.”…
