‘We’re Hoosiers too’: Southern Indiana begins flood recovery without state leaders saying a word

CHARLESTOWN, In. (WAVE) – As waters along the Ohio River begin to recede, people in Southern Indiana living along its banks are calling for help.

“It’s not just us. It’s Utica, it’s Madison, it’s Evansville,” one women in Clark County, who asked to remain anonymous, said. “Everyone along the Southern Indiana border of the river is impacted like this.”

As of April 10, Indiana Governor Mike Braun has not declared a state of emergency or issued a disaster declaration in response to some of the worst flooding along the river since the record-setting flood of 1997…
