Driver injured after swerving into tree trying to avoid striking deer in DeKalb County Friday night

DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WPTA) – A driver in DeKalb County was injured Friday night after swerving into a tree trying to avoid striking a deer.

According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, the single-vehicle crash happened at around 10:45 p.m. in the 2200 block of State Road 427, northwest of Waterloo.

Officers say when they arrived on the scene, the driver of the crashed vehicle, a 26-year-old Auburn man, told them that he swerved to avoid hitting the deer, causing his SUV to leave the roadway and strike a tree…
