Central Indiana Thunderstorm Warning: Strong Winds Threaten Southeast by Monday Evening

Indianapolis, IN – Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms are forecast to impact southeastern portions of central Indiana on Monday, with damaging winds posing the greatest threat.

According to the US National Weather Service in Indianapolis, scattered showers and isolated storms will develop throughout the day on April 14, especially during the afternoon and evening hours. The greatest risk area extends southeast of Indianapolis, including areas near Columbus, Greensburg, and Richmond. Storms are expected to remain isolated but could produce strong gusts in excess of 60 mph.

Meteorologists have placed the region under a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5) on the Storm Prediction Center’s severe weather scale.
