Teachers fill Indiana Statehouse to demand change as controversial bill nears passage

INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana teachers filled the Statehouse on Monday, April 14 as part of the Indiana State Teachers Association (ISTA) “Day of Action.”

Many teachers are motivated by Senate Bill 1. The bill deals with property taxes, as well as forcing public schools to share referenda money with some charter schools and dissolving an Indiana school corporation.
