Indiana State Police targets unsafe driving in work zones

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)- A driver on I‑469 in Allen County was arrested after being clocked at 132 mph in a 55 mph construction zone .

Although the suspect was arrested for reckless driving, Officials with Indiana State Police say they were not booked into jail due to the misdemeanor nature of the charge and Allen County’s nearly full jail.

Instead, they will receive a court date. State troopers say speeding in work zones remains a serious public safety risk. “We are actively patrolling in those zones to be visible and to slow traffic down for the safety of everybody,” said Sgt. Wes Rowlader of the Indiana State Police…
