Fort Wayne police arrest 26-year-old man following 4+ hour-long standoff

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — A Fort Wayne man is under arrest following an hours-long standoff with police Sunday morning.

According to a release from the Fort Wayne Police Department, around 6:02 a.m. on April 20, FWPD officers received a report about an unwanted man who was inside a home in the 3200 block of Dinnen Avenue, which is on the southwest side of the city.

When officers arrived on scene, 26-year-old Lantz Garrett reportedly retreated into the basement of the home, barricaded himself inside and then told officers he had explosives while also threatening to shoot police…
