Nearly $359,000 available for return in foreclosure cases, Allen Superior Court says

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WPTA) – Allen Superior Court leaders say they are looking to return surplus Sheriff’s Sale funds to former owners or heirs in 70 foreclosure cases.

Court Executive John McGauley says the court started the Foreclosure Surplus Program in 2021 to return Sheriff’s Sale surpluses to rightful owners. The surplus is the difference between the amount owed to the financial institution that foreclosed on a property and the amount the property sold for at the Sheriff’s Sale.
