Fort Wayne man pleads guilty to neglect in 4-year-old’s fentanyl death

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A man linked to the 2022 death of a 4-year-old faces 20 years in prison after entering a plea agreement this week.

Jonathan Mulvihill, 36, pleaded guilty to three counts of child neglect, according to Allen Superior Court records filed Wednesday. A Level 1 felony count of neglect would be dismissed if the judge accepts the plea deal at Mulvihill’s sentencing.

The child was pronounced dead at a hospital on July 15, 2022, after police were called to a home on reports of a child not breathing. In December of that year, the autopsy results indicated the child’s cause of death was cocaine and fentanyl toxicity…
