FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — In April Chuck Surack and Daryle Doden made an announcement. A signed Real Estate Purchase Offer to purchase the over 25-acre property known as the North River Property.
At the time, the city simply told WANE 15, “We appreciate the interest from Mr. Surack and Mr. Doden but the City owned North River property is not for sale.”
The city is planning on building a fieldhouse on the lot, a catalyst of youth sports, but apparently they didn’t pass along the message to Doden and Surack.

Frankly, to Chuck, given his relationships with most, if not all of you, and his incredible involvement and investment in Fort Wayne, it felt like a slap in the face,” reads a letter penned by both Surack and Doden…
