Fort Wayne restaurant celebrates Cinco de Mayo

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Traditions carry on for another year, on May 5, and are celebrated as Cinco de Mayo for many. This day is celebrated in Mexico for a victory against French forces in the Battle of Puebla on March 5, 1862. Over a century and a half later, the holiday continues.

The Hoppy Gnome in downtown Fort Wayne brings an authentic taste of Cinco de Mayo Monday evening. For $95, you can enjoy a 5-course meal, each with a special drink. Some of the menu highlights include Cochinita Pibil Sopes, Borrego al Chili and more. The event will begin at 6 p.m. and be emceed by the General Manager, Matthew Thena.
