Gold star families begin 140 mile run in Fort Wayne to honor fallen Hoosiers

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — Gold star families will remember their fallen loved ones across three days and 140 miles. The Indiana Run for the Fallen is a relay-style run from Fort Wayne to Indianapolis to recognize and honor the fallen Hoosiers who died during the War on Terror.

Each mile is to remember a service member who gave their life. At the hero markers , their names will be announced. Participants run as one, carrying flags the entire way.
