FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — The BISSELL Pet Foundation is hosting a National Empty the Shelter event. Across the country, the foundation is sponsoring reduced adoptions at more than 380 organizations in 43 states. Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control is one of those organizations that the BISSELL Pet Foundation is reducing adoption fees.
Dogs 6 months and older will be $50 during the adoption event. Senior dogs, kittens, cats, guinea pigs, and rabbits have waived adoption fees. Puppies are not included in the adoption event.
Adoption events such as the Empty the Shelter event are one way Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control works to reduce its shelter numbers. At the time of the event, the shelter had more than 200 animals in its care and approximately 203 animals in the foster system…
