United Way of Allen County provides funding for FWCS to continue ‘Families in Transition’ program

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – The United Way of Allen County is providing funding for Fort Wayne Community Schools (FWCS) to continue its Families in Transition program, which provides help for students and families experiencing homelessness.

The nonprofit announced on Wednesday that it is fully funding a case manager position for the program through the 2025-26 school year.

The position was created following the COVID-19 pandemic using American Rescue Plan Act funds, according to the United Way of Allen County’s Director of Community Impact, Ruthie Hall.
