FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — The Allen County commissioners approved two repair projects for the Allen County Courthouse at the May 30 Commissioners meeting.
The two projects include scagliola repairs for $27,500. Scagliola is an imitation marble material. These repairs will take place inside the courthouse, mainly in the courtrooms and on the third floor. These repairs were described as “spot repairs” by the Executive Director of the Allen County Courthouse Trust, Robyn Zimmerman. There is a limited number of people in the United States with knowledge of how to perform these repairs.
The second project is repairs to the ornamental iron works outside the doors of the courthouse entrances. Seasonal changes cause damage to the outdoor structures. This project is worth $11,500.
