How Humane Fort Wayne is solving overpopulation of cats

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — With a city of Fort Wayne size, there are an estimated 16,000 stray, free-roaming cats throughout the community, and Humane Fort Wayne wants to be part of the solution.

Starting on Monday, June 2nd, they will be offering walk-in TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) services for stray cats, as part of their community cat advocacy program.

This will be offered Monday through Wednesday indefinitely, with check-ins starting at 8:15 am, with the last cat checked in by 9 a.m. They will take a total of 10 cats per day.

This surgery package includes spay/neuter surgery, a microchip, a mandatory ear tip, and a 3-year rabies vaccine. This package costs $50 for all services, with a limit of two cats per household…
