MIDLAND, Mich. (WANE) – With a chance to earn a series split, the TinCaps fell in heartbreaking fashion in a 6-5 loss to Great Lakes on Sunday afternoon.
With the game tied at 5-5, Logan Wagner hit a walk off single to left field, bringing home Nelson Quiroz for the winning run. Great Lakes took 4-of-6 games this week to clinch a series win over Fort Wayne.
The TinCaps and Loons traded blows all afternoon on Sunday. Jake Snider gave Fort Wayne an early 2-0 lead on a 2-run double in the top of the second inning.
