Fort Wayne father found guilty of neglect, battery in infant’s death

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A year ago, the trial of a man accused in his infant daughter’s death resulted in a hung jury.

But Thursday, the jury in a second trial found Michael Allen Jr. guilty of neglect and aggravated battery. Both counts carry 20 to 40 years in prison.

Back in March 2021, Allen took his 1-year-old girl to a fire station near their New Haven home to get help because she was not breathing normally, among other symptoms. She was then taken to a hospital and pronounced dead…
