Felony charge filed against Fort Wayne woman who allegedly lied about hiding a wanted man

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — A month after a standoff that led to a fight between police and bystanders, charges have been filed against a woman accused of hiding the man police were after.

On May 27, police responded to two anonymous tips that Javonta Royal, facing felony drug charges, was seen at an apartment complex in southeast Fort Wayne.

An officer arrived in an unmarked car and observed a man matching the description of Royal as well as a woman identified as Dayshanique Lashai Sanders entering and exiting the apartment to a car registered to Sanders.
