Former FWFD Chief expresses concerns over current state of department

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – The Fort Wayne firefighters union held a press conference in early June to “call for accountability and demand action to address unsafe conditions, delayed response times, and mismanagement by Fire Chief Eric Lahey”.

During the press conference, leaders with Fort Wayne Professional Firefighters Local 124 shared the results of a survey of 301 Fort Wayne Fire Department firefighters taken earlier this year, where it was revealed nearly 95% were in favor of removing the fire chief while 4% were not in favor of removal and 2% abstained.
