FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – A few pop-up showers and storms developed this evening, lingering into tonight.
One particularly impressive storm cell developed this afternoon in southern Wells County. This storm cell produced nearly 4 inches of rain within 55 minutes. As a result, a Flash Flood Warning was issued for a small portion of the county. One report came in from that area saying a portion of a road had flooded over near the intersection of 1000 S and 700 W. As always, this is a good reminder to turn around when you see floodwaters on roads.
As we look ahead, more opportunities for scattered rain and storms will come in on Monday as a front swings through the region. The Storm Prediction Center has the entire state of Indiana under a Marginal (Level 1) Risk for severe weather tomorrow afternoon and evening. While I don’t expect numerous severe storms, a few storms may get gusty and cause isolated wind damage…
