A garage storing fireworks destroyed in Sunday night fire

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a garage fire north of downtown Fort Wayne Sunday night.

FWFD responded to multiple reports of a garage fire in the 600 block of West State Boulevard at 6:55 p.m. with several explosions being heard. According to FWFD, the garage was being used to store fireworks.

According to a release from the Fort Wayne Fire Department, a fire engine arrived on the scene within three minutes and found both the building and a vehicle engulfed in flames. The power line outside the garage was also destroyed in the fire. Nearby buildings suffered minor damage from the heat…
