FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The City of Fort Wayne is restarting its push to repair broken sidewalks beginning with one of the areas hit hardest by neglect.
Sidewalk repairs are now underway in Waynedale as part of a larger initiative to improve infrastructure across the city.
Fort Wayne officials prioritizing sidewalk repairs in Waynedale
The effort kicked off in 2024 after residents voiced concerns during community meetings. Since then, city crews have fixed more than 100 miles of trip hazards, with many of the worst areas concentrated in Waynedale.
“We want people to be able to take their kids out for a walk, ride their bike, and not worry about tripping on sidewalks,” said 4th District City Councilman Scott Myers. “It’s about quality of life.”…
