First Alert Forecast: More 90s on the way for the first weekend of July

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – If you are hoping for more high heat, you’ll get some more of it for the first weekend of July!

Expect mostly sunny skies and a hot afternoon today as highs push into the low 90s. It will be a great day to hit the pools or lakes with most of the day remaining dry. We have a very slight (10-20%) chance of a pop-up shower, but I don’t expect it to have much, if any, impact on the day as beautiful sunshine should win out. The UV Index will be at a high of 10 today & tomorrow, so please make sure to apply plenty of sunscreen and limit the time spent in the sun for the next two days!

We will return to the low 90s tomorrow with the first half of the day remaining dry. Later in the day, a cold front will spark showers and occasional rumbles of thunder. Models have been hinting that the line of storms will be in the weakening phase as it enters 21Country for tomorrow evening, so the threat for severe weather is very low. Following it, we will take a break from the scorching temperatures and head back to more seasonal temps next week :)…
