Oxford Clinic officially opens its doors to the public in ribbon-cutting ceremony

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — Oxford Clinic has just opened its doors to the public, with the goal of improving access to quality, affordable healthcare for those who need it most.

With the support of local and national foundations, community members, organizations, government entities, and national investors, Neighborhood Health transformed the closed Ward Elementary School into a $20 million center for health and wellness. In 2021, the organization bought the old school, located in southeast Fort Wayne, for a mere $10 from Fort Wayne Community Schools with hopes of turning it into something more.

Monday morning, they did just that. Oxford Clinic hosted its ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by a community open house later in the evening, where anyone is welcome to check out the facility, meet care teams, and enjoy refreshments. The open house will take place at 3501 Warsaw Street, from 5-7pm.

“This clinic stands as a testament to what can be achieved when an entire community rallies together around a shared vision,” said Angie Zaegel, CEO of Neighborhood Health. “I am deeply humbled by this project and by the support we have received from so many people our community members, funders, investors, and the business community. At times, the scale of what we were undertaking felt overwhelming, but I leaned on faith and trusted that if we stayed true to our purpose, it would come together. The vision was stronger than the fear, and seeing it realized is an experience beyond words.”…
