Fort Wayne shelter hosts a post-Fourth of July sale

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Every Fourth of July, Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control gets flooded with animals.

“Unfortunately we always get an influx around the holidays, the lights are scary to not only dogs but cats as well,” outreach coordinator Tyna Reiter said. “So, yes, we definitely had some new ones coming in, and we’re ready to find them homes.”

Reiter said that’s why shelter staff decided to join over three-hundred other shelters doing the “Empty the Shelters” promotion…
