Fort Wayne students earn scholarships to become local teachers

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — Allen County students preparing to become teachers have been awarded the Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship, local lawmakers announced.

This scholarship provides up to $10,000 annually, totaling up to $40,000, to high-achieving students committed to teaching in Indiana schools for five years.

“These young Hoosiers are embracing a vital calling in public service,” State Rep. Martin Carbaugh said. “I commend their dedication to starting their teaching journeys here in Indiana.”…
