SCAM ALERT: Fort Wayne real estate firm warns of Facebook impersonators

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – JM Realty Associates, a Fort Wayne-based real estate firm, is warning people of an account impersonating them on Facebook.

The fake account, created in May, has been spotted posting fake listings on community Facebook groups like the Nosey Neighbors of Auburn, Indiana, and the Decatur Discussion Board.

A Facebook user says she interacted with a listing posted to the Auburn group, but became skeptical after being asked to pay a $50 application fee. She then called JM Realty to inquire about the listing, confirming the post was made by an impostor account.

Jerry Starks, realtor and owner of the company, says their attempts to shut down the fake page through Facebook have been unsuccessful thus far…
