East Central neighbors meet with city, EPA to combat extreme heat

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — Residents in Fort Wayne’s East Central neighborhood are working with city officials and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to fight back against rising extreme heat.

On Tuesday evening, the neighborhood hosted a private community dinner and input session at the Foellinger Foundation. The event is part of a federally funded EPA planning grant awarded to the City of Fort Wayne and Indiana Tech to develop neighborhood-specific solutions to urban heat.
